Last Call for Photos for Older Girl Fly Up Slideshow

May 15th is the deadline to send in your photos for the Slideshow.  If you have not yet sent in your photos to Mary Lasdin, please take the time by Wednesday to do so.  Send your 5-12 photos from your troop to Mary Lasdin at lasdin@comcast.net by May 15th to be included in the slideshow.  Mary would like you to label the photos if possible with your troop # in order of your favorites.  For example, troop 71901.1, 71901.2 and so on.  If you need help scanning older photos, let Mary know.

Daisy Annual Fly Up Event

The Daisy Fly Up Invitation is now attached here.  Fly Up is scheduled for Monday, June 17th, at the Aldersgate Church at 6:30 p.m.  We would ask that all girls arrive by 6:15.  Daisy Fly Up will be less than an hour and we will have refreshments after the ceremony.  We would ask each troop to collect a supply of bathroom toilet tissue and Glade air fresheners from your girls to donate to the Aldersgate Church in lieu of a monetary donation for the generous use of their space for Fly Up.  We can answer any Fly Up questions at our May Leader meeting.

Annual Bridging and Fly Up Event – June 18

We now have a date for Fly Up.  Lisa Coroa-Bockley researched all the dates in late May and June for our Fly Up and the ONE date that worked best without conflicts for school, sports, or religious events was Tuesday, June 18th.  The Fly Up and Bridging will be held at St. Theresa’s Rita Hall.  Troops in 1st, 3rd, 5th, 8th, 10th, and 12th grade will be receiving an email soon to confirm your attendance and participation at Fly Up.  We ask your cooperation in replying to this email ASAP so we can determine whether we need to do a separate Daisy Fly Up.  Currently we have over 100 girls eligible to fly up!  Watch for a flyer coming soon and an email from Lisa asking for troops to sign up for tasks.

Fly Up Meeting Minutes - 3/15/11

Fly Up Planning Meeting - 3/15/11

What is Fly Up? Flying up is graduation from one level to the next. Every troop that is moving from one level to the next can fly up and will receive her wings.

Troops can also earn their bridging patch - updated requirements are out at girlscoutseasternmass.org

It will be held at NR HS Auditorium on 5/22 6-8p.m. Because dates are tight, there will be no rehearsal; however, the Senior troop that is flying up will help coordinate the troops in lining up to minimize confusion.

This year's theme is "Candyland".

Ceremony will follow this format:
o Flag ceremony (5 min)
o Presentation of banners (5 min) explain banners
o Welcome (5 min) done by Amy
o Juliette Low World Friendship Fund Collection (5 min).  This is a donation made to support troops around the world, suggested donation by each troop is 50 cents to 1 dollar per girl
o Crossing the bridge (30 min)
o Entertainment - Slide show (5-10 min)
o Leader Awards (5-10 min) done by Amy
o Closing Ceremony (5 min)
o Refreshments (25 min)
